FRIDAY: Canadian rock greats Chilliwack (“Fly at Night”), featuring singer-guitarist Bill Henderson, play the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.

FRIDAY: Vancouver roots trio Cannery Row–composed of fiddler/accordionist Gary Comeau, guitarist Tim Hearsey and drummer Chris Nordquist–blends blues, Latin, zydeco, jazz, cajun, country, and rock ‘n’ roll at Guilt and Co.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: 31 emerging and seasoned local designers and makers were selected to create 22 objects made from vintage mahogany for Reclaim + Repair: The Mahogany Project, running until August 7 at the Museum of Vancouver.

Chelsea Hotel runs at the Firehall

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: Chelsea Hotel: The Songs of Leonard Cohen is a fusion of music, dance, and drama at the Firehall Arts Centre celebrating the life and work of the legendary Canadian poet and singer-songwriter.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the work of late Trinidadian-Canadian artist Denyse Thomasos is featured in the career retrospective Denyse Thomasos: just beyond, running until April 1 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

FRIDAY &  SUNDAY: Italian classical guitarist Aniello Desiderio joins the Vancouver Symphony for a program that includes Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday and Bell Performing Arts Centre on Sunday.

SATURDAY: Australian-born actress, dancer, and cabaret artist Meow Meow is joined by the Vancouver Symphony in a program that includes original compositions along with Piazzolla tangos, Weill, Brecht, Brel, and Radiohead at the Orpheum Theatre.

SATURDAY: local acts the Pat Chessell Band and Sinéad X Sanders perform A Tribute to Shane McGowan at Mel Lehan Hall at St. James.

SATURDAY: Sin City and Restricted Entertainment present a Fetish Night at Village Studios (located underneath Celebrities), featuring a night of kink play and dancefloor vibes. Fetish dress-code mandatory; plainclothes not permitted. LGBTQ+, straight, drag, cross-dress, femme, masc, non-binary, lifestylers, singles, couples, poly, hardcore regular, and newbie players all welcome.

Ministry plays the Commodore

SUNDAY: American industrial-metal band Ministry,  fronted by Al Jourgensen, plays the Commodore Ballroom, with guests Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly. SOLD OUT.
