That time Dan McCafferty told me that Nazareth has to play “Razamanaz” and “Hair of the Dog” or people would just go “Boooo!”

I did the last of my three interviews with Nazareth singer Dan McCafferty on May 22, 2001, the same day that the Scottish hard-rock band released a double live album called Back to the Trenches.

The timing was right, because back in 2001 Nazareth certainly was back in the trenches, playing clubs in small towns after years as an arena act.

At one point in the conversation I asked McCafferty which of their old tunes were going over best in concert.
