I interviewed Drive-By Truckers singer, songwriter, and guitarist Patterson Hood for the fourth time back in June of 2008, when his band was touring behind its seventh studio album, Brighter Than Creation’s Dark.
That might be my favourite DBT album, which is saying a lot, because they’ve been my favourite band for many years now.
At one point in the conversation Patterson told me about the album’s cover art by Wes Freed, the Virginia alt-country musician and visual artist whose southern-Gothic work graced several Drive-By Truckers recordings.
