FRIDAY: the BC Lions take on the Ottawa RedBlacks in Canadian Football League action at BC Place.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY: Vancouver guitar-rock greats 54-40, featuring frontman Neil Osborne, play tunes from new album PORTO at the Commodore Ballroom, with guests Jets Overhead.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the 45th annual Vancouver International Film Festival runs until October 11 at various Vancouver venues, featuring independent, Canadian, documentary, and international shorts and features, plus live performances and filmmaker talks.

Heist runs at the Stanley

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the Arts Club Theatre Company presents performances of playwright Arun Lakra’s crime caper Heist, running at the Stanley BFL Canada Stage until October 18.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: That Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, running until November 8 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, features more than 100 works by the iconic B.C. artist, exploring in-depth her obsession with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the Search Party presents performances of playwright Max Wolf Friedlich’s social media psycho-thriller JOB, running at the Cultch until October 11.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: showing nightly until October 31 at the Dome, Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.
