Just saw a clip on YouTube of American actress Alicia Silverstone, along with Steven Tyler’s daughter Liv, introducing Aerosmith at the Hollywood Bowl last night (October 29).
As you may recall, especially if you’re a big Aerosmith fan, when the two women were teenagers they appeared together in the 1994 music video for the band’s hit power ballad “Crazy”, which received heavy rotation on MTV and other channels. (So far the clip has garnered over 754 million views on Aerosmith’s YouTube channel.)
A year earlier, Silverstone had become an instant celebrity for starring in the videos for two other Aerosmith tunes, “Cryin'” and “Amazing”.
Seeing Silverstone, now 50, got me thinking about that time back in ’94 when I interviewed her on the Vancouver-area set of the crappy horror movie Hideaway, where she played the daughter of Jeff Goldblum’s character.
I talked to her in her trailer at the old Britannia Mine while her unit publicist made microwave popcorn–“can’t let it burn!”–and at one point in the conversation I asked her about those Aerosmith videos.
Have a listen:
