Chilliwack: Canadian rock greats from the ’70s (“Fly at Night”, “Lonesome Mary”), featuring singer-guitarist Bill Henderson. March 1 at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.

A Tribute to Shane McGowan: local acts the Pat Chessell Band and Sinéad X Sanders pay tribute to the late Pogues frontman. March 2 at Mel Lehan Hall at St. James.

Ministry: American industrial-metal band fronted by Al Jourgensen, with guests Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly. March 3 at the Commodore Ballroom. SOLD OUT.

Cord Lund plays the Orpheum

Corb Lund: country-and-western singer-songwriter from Alberta performs tunes from new album El Viejo, with guest 49 WinchesterMarch 5 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Voivod: prog-metal quartet from Quebec, with guests ProngMarch 6 at the Commodore Ballroom.

The Real McKenzies: Vancouver Celtic punks perform on their Off The Leash Tour, with guests Brutal Youth and Another Joe. March 7 at the Rickshaw Theatre.

Festival du Bois: francophone music festival features Acadian, Celtic, Metis, and world-music, with mainstage performances by such groups as La Famille LeBlanc, College Trad, and the North Shore Celtic Ensemble. March 8 to 10 at Coquitlam’s Mackin Park.

The Ostara Project: Canadian jazz musicians Jodi Proznick and Amanda Tosoff lead a gathering of seven female jazz artists formed to challenge the male-dominated narrative. March 9 at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios.

Coco Montoya plays the Rickshaw

Coco Montoya: American blues-rock guitarist, formerly of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, with local guests Terminal Station. March 10 at the Rickshaw Theatre.

A Celebration of Love: Washboard Union, Wide Mouth Mason, Hot Hot Heat, Karen Lee Batten, Daniel Powter, and Crystal Shawanda perform to celebrate the life of B.C. music-industry veteran Rob Pattee, who is dying of liver cancer. March 13 at the Commodore Ballroom.

Get Back Unplugged: local sextet composed of violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Andrew Hillhouse, vocalist LJ Mounteney, accordionist Allan Dionne, guitarist David Gibbons, and bassist Brent Gubbels performs music of the Beatles in a folk-pop context. March 14 at Mel Lehan Hall at St. James.

Roy Forbes: Canadian folk singer-songwriter, formerly known as Bim, performs songs from latest album Edge of Blue. March 15 at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios.

Gwar: costumed comedic thrash-metal gore collective from Richmond, Virginia, with guests Cancer Bats. March 20 at the Vogue Theatre.

Melissa Etheridge: confessional folk-rock singer-songwriter from Kansas performs with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as part of her I’m Not Broken Tour. March 23 at the Orpheum Theatre.

Reverend Horton Heat plays the Rickshaw

Reverend Horton Heat: psychobilly band from Dallas, Texas, featuring guitarist-vocalist Jim Heath, with guests Dale Watson and Jason D. Williams. March 26 at the Rickshaw Theatre. SOLD OUT.
