SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: performances at the Firehall Arts Centre of Tracey Powers’ House of Folk, set in the 1960s during the height of the Canadian folk-music revival and featuring the music of Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and Gordon Lightfoot.

Round Midnight screens at VIFF Centre

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: 40th anniversary screenings at the VIFF Centre of director Bertrand Tavernier’s jazz drama Round Midnight, preceded by an hour-long live set by Vancouver-based saxophonist Ardeshir Pourkeramati and a stellar quartet.
