FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: the 2006 Hump! Film Festival at the Rio Theatre is a curated, independent film fest celebrating sex-positive storytelling and DIY creativity.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: running until March 28 at the Paul Kyle Gallery is The Collaborators, a pivotal retrospective of Canadian documentarian Nettie Wild, tracing her evolution from film to public installation. Special events include a flythrough projection and director/collaborators discussion on March 28 of Wild’s 2017 work Uninterrupted.

Blossoms After Dark at David Lam Park

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: as part of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival, Blossoms After Dark features a promenade through illuminated cherry blossoms, performers, food trucks, artisan and retail vendors, and interactive activities at David Lam Park.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: IMAX screenings at various Vancouver theatres of director Baz Luhrmann‘s new documentary EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, featuring never-before-seen footage and newly unearthed recordings of the King.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: showing nightly until April 29 at the DomePink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring the mindblowing music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.

SATURDAY: Canadian ska-rock quintet K-Man & the 45s play LanaLou’s, with guests Kownterpoint and Trollop.

Bruce McCulloch performs at GCCV

SATURDAY: Canadian comedian and actor Bruce McCulloch, best known for his work as a member of TV’s The Kids in the Hall, performs at the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver as part of his The Dark Purple Slice Tour.

SATURDAY: Chicago punk-rock quartet Rise Against plays tunes from latest album Ricochet at the PNE Forum, with guests Destroy Boys and Speed of Light.

SUNDAY: New Jersey instrumental pop band Delicate Steve, featuring guitarist Steve Marion, plays the Biltmore Cabaret.

Peter Green tribute at the Rickshaw

SUNDAYThe Music of Peter Green & Santana at the Rickshaw Theatre features performances by American and Canadian tribute bands Blues for Greeny and Scott Smith & the Evil Ways.
