Sweet Queens of Chaos play the Biltmore

FRIDAY: Retro Mirage at the Biltmore Cabaret features performances by up-and-coming local bands Sweet Queens of Chaos, Nitroglycerin, Jazzfrica, PHROG, and the New Mischiefs.
FRIDAY: the Grames Brothers–local quartet composed of singer-guitarist Panos Grames, lead guitarist Johannes Grames, bassist Billy Mendoza, and drummer Randall Stoll–perform an upbeat hybrid of rock, funk, soul, and reggae at Bimini’s Pub.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: showing nightly until April 29 at the Dome, Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring the mindblowing music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: That Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, running until November 8 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, features more than 100 works by the iconic B.C. artist, exploring in-depth her obsession with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: IMAX screenings at various Vancouver theatres of director Baz Luhrmann‘s new documentary EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, featuring never-before-seen footage and newly unearthed recordings of the King.
SATURDAY: American alt-country singer-songwriter Jeff Tweedy, formerly of Uncle Tupelo and currently of Wilco, plays the Commodore Ballroom, with guest Liam Kazar.

The Mammoth are in town
SATURDAY: the Vancouver Canucks take on the Utah Mammoth in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena.
SATURDAY: Benny Kemp Memorial Show at the Rickshaw Theatre features performances by Crystal Pistol, RoadRash, Rebel Priest, Lustboys, the Toxiks, Scalding, the Highsides, Barbarians, and Speed Leopard.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: David Byrne of Talking Heads fame performs two nights at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of his Who Is the Sky Tour?

Chime screens at the Rio
SUNDAY: screening at the Rio Theatre of a 2025 restoration of director Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s low-budget 1998 gangland thriller Serpent’s Path. The film screens alongside Kurosawa’s 45-minute horror flick of 2024, Chime.
