When I interviewed Jeck Beck back in January of 2001, just before the release of his You Had It Coming album, I asked the world’s greatest living rock guitarist if the 2000 Grammy nomination for a track from his previous album, Who Else!, meant anything to him.
In typically modest Beck style he scoffed at the idea, then went on to say that he thought Carlos Santana–who scored a whopping eight trophies for Supernatural–was more deserving anyway.
Have a listen:
P.S. Beck did win a Grammy in 2002 for the You Had It Coming track “Dirty Mind”, so there is some justice in the music world.
