By Steve Newton
Drum legend Tommy Aldridge has played with some of the greatest rock guitarists of all time: Gary Moore, Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Pat Travers, Tony MacAlpine, Scott Gorham, John Sykes. Heck, even his first band of note, Black Oak Arkansas, featured some pretty heavy-duty pickers.
When I interviewed Aldridge back in 2001 I mentioned some of the guys he played with, then asked him to name the most talented guitarist he ever played with, and his answer wasn’t really much of a surprise.

What a classy guy TA is. RIP to my favorite guitar player ever Randy Rhoads.
