FRIDAY: late-night double-bill at the Rio Theatre of Tod Browning’s Freaks and Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo: The Iron Man.

FRIDAY: Canadian Celtic-punk band the Mahones plays the Fox Cabaret, with guests Paddy Waggin.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: Steve Dawson leads a re-imagining of the Grateful Dead’s iconic album American Beauty at the Kay Meek Arts Centre in West Van.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: British pop legend Elton John performs at Rogers Arena as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Final Tour.
