FRIDAY: Fernie, B.C. folk-rock quartet Shred Kelly plays the Biltmore Cabaret as part of its Blurry Vision album-release tour, with guests Hyaenas. Here’s my interview with Shred Kelly’s Jim Newton (no relation) from 2021.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the work of late Trinidadian-Canadian artist Denyse Thomasos is featured in the career retrospective Denyse Thomasos: just beyond, running until April 1 at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Velvet Terrorism at Polygon Gallery

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: through videos, photographs, testimonies, song lyrics, and reflections, the exhibition Velvet Terrorism: Pussy Riot’s Russia offers an account of infamous feminist art collective Pussy Riot’s non-violent actions, running until June 2 at the Polygon Gallery.

SATURDAY: the Vancouver Whitecaps take on the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer action at BC Place.
