MONDAY TO FRIDAY: True Tribal: Contemporary Expressions of Ancestral Tattoo Practices explores 30-plus years of Indigenous tattooing from around the world and showcases the artists who are reconnecting with traditional skin-marking practices, at the Museum of Vancouver.

TUESDAY: Vancouver indie-rock trio Veal, featuring singer-guitarist Luke Doucet, plays the Biltmore Cabaret.
WEDNESDAY: the Vancouver Canucks take on the Arizona Coyotes in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena.
WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY: through videos, photographs, testimonies, song lyrics, and reflections, the exhibition Velvet Terrorism: Pussy Riot’s Russia offers an account of infamous feminist art collective Pussy Riot’s non-violent actions, running until June 2 at the Polygon Gallery.
THURSDAY: the Pacific Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Society presents the East Van Square Dance at the WISE Hall, with dances called by Paul Silveria.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Dan Savage’s HUMP! Film Festival: Part One at the Rio Theatre is a showcase of short erotic films celebrating a cornucopia of body types, shapes, ages, colours, sexualities, genders, kinks, and fetishes, with an overall spirit of sex-positivity.
