FRIDAY: Canadian soul/blues vocalist Miss Emily performs with her band at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios.

Hump! Film Fest screens at the Rio
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: Dan Savage’s 2005 Hump! Film Festival: Part One features screenings of 23 short adult films at the Rio Theatre.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: screenings at the VIFF Centre of No Other Land, the Oscar-winning documentary about the realities of Israeli occupation in the State of Palestine’s West Bank. In Arabic, Hebrew, and English, with English subtitles.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: xʷəlməxʷ child, running until May 25 at North Vancouver’s Polygon Gallery, features Manuel Axel Strain‘s figurative paintings, transformed into pictographs and set against photographic murals.

Banksy exhibition runs at 1 Alexander Street
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” exhibition, running until May 25 at 1 Alexander Street, features over 200 prints, photos, sculptures, installations, and murals by world-famous street artist Banksy.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: performances at Studio 58 of Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg’s We Are Boy Band, a devised piece that follows a group of pop singers as they strive for stardom and deal with the dark side of fame.
SATURDAY: screening at the Rio Theatre of Becoming Led Zeppelin, director Bernard MacMahon’s new documentary about the formation of the legendary British rock band, featuring never-before-seen footage and new interviews with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.
