Saturday is Record Store Day

FRIDAY: late-night screening at the Rio Theatre of director Robert Harmon‘s 1986 horror classic The Hitcher, about a young man who is stalked by a murderous hitchhiker and framed for his crimes.
FRIDAY: in Epidermis Circus, Ingrid Hansen performs a live puppet film, animating cheeky vignettes in the palm of her hand and projecting them onto a huge screen at the Kay Meek Arts Centre.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: the Hyperspace Metal Festival features performances at the Cobalt by power/melodic-metal bands Greyhawk, Lunar, Solarus, Tylor Dory Trio, and the Astral Prophet (Fri.); and at the Rickshaw Theatre by Enforcer, Psychostick, Crimson Shadows, AfterTime, and Luminator (Sat.).

Krystle Dos Santos goes Motown at the Firehall

SATURDAY: Record Store Day Canada features special vinyl releases as part of its 18th annual celebration of independent record stores. Participating Vancouver outlets include Neptoon Records, Zulu Records, Red Cat Records, Dandelion Records, Soulessentials Records, Beat Street, Audiopile, and Hooked on Phono.
