Rolling Quartz plays the Rio

MONDAY TO FRIDAY: The Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” exhibition, running until May 25 at 1 Alexander Street, features over 200 prints, photos, sculptures, installations, and murals by world-famous street artist Banksy.
TUESDAY TO THURSDAY: Champions of Magic features performances at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre by illusionists Young & Strange, Liberty Larson, and Fernando Velasco.
THURSDAY: Broadway Rocks is a concert to celebrate the Broadway Corridor featuring the Airborne Toxic Event and guests Wide Mouth Mason at the Hollywood Theatre.

Jack White plays the Commodore
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: former White Stripes guitarist-vocalist Jack White performs two solo shows at the Commodore Ballroom.
FRIDAY: Canadian blues-rock act Wide Mouth Mason, featuring lead vocalist, guitarist, and 3–slide lap-steel player Shaun Verreault, plays the first of two nights at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios. Here’s my interview with Shaun Verreault from 2021.
FRIDAY: all-female rock band from South Korea, Rolling Quartz, plays the Rio Theatre as part of its Stand Up Tour.

Graham Clark performs at LMG
FRIDAY: Vancouver comic Graham Clark performs a fundraising 24 Hours of Standup at Little Mountain Gallery, with partial proceeds going to Filipino BC in response to the recent tragedy at Lapu Lapu Day. Here’s my interview with Graham Clark from 2021.
FRIDAY: the Toddcast Podcast presents Vancouver hard-rock quartet Southern Death Threat at Blue Light Studios, with guests Fear the Possessed and Lonely Funeral.
FRIDAY: Vancouver hardcore punk band from the ’80s, Death Sentence, plays an all-ages show at LanaLou’s, with guests 10 Days Late and Smelters.

Videodrome screens at the Rio
FRIDAY: late-night screening at the Rio Theatre of David Cronenberg‘s 1983 sci-fi body-horror film Videodrome, starring James Woods and Deborah Harry.
