FRIDAY: Vancouver blues-rock quartet the Grames Brothers, composed of guitar-playing brothers Johannes and Panos Grames, drummer Randall Stoll, and bassist Billy Mendoza, plays the Rio Theatre, with guests Them Ordinary Things.

FRIDAY: Vancouver saxophonist Steve Kaldestad performs music from jazz legend Sonny Rollins’ 1965 album Sonny Rollins On Impulse! at Frankie’s Jazz, accompanied by pianist Chris Gestrin, bassist Steve Holy, and drummer Jesse Cahill.

FRIDAY: L.A. muso-comic Melissa Strype hosts Femme-Tember, an evening of female and female-fronted bands at the Rickshaw Theatre, featuring performances by local acts Hyaenas, Cat Madden, Tess Anderson, Hot Spell, and Cordie M. Sad.

Vancouver Canadians play Everett Aquasox
