Back in 1999 I did the fourth of my five interviews with Alice Cooper, who at the time was touring behind his newish box set, The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper.
At one point in the conversation I told the Coop that I was the Vancouver correspondent for Fangoria Magazine, because I wanted to ask him some horror-oriented questions, but right then his longtime archivist and personal assistant Brian “Renfield” Nelson–who apparently had been eavesdropping the whole time–broke in to point out that we hadn’t talked about the upcoming Vancouver concert yet.
Cooper took that as a cue to put on his promoter’s cap and plug the Alice Cooper Rock ‘N Roll Carnival Show.
