FRIDAY: ’70s Rock & Roll Night at the Crescent Beach Legion features performances by tribute bands Blue Collar Overdrive (BTO) and This Flight Tonight (Nazareth).
FRIDAY: 20-person jazz-metal orchestra Mike WT Allen’s Space Elevator plays the Rickshaw Theatre, with local jazz-fusion guests Chopping Spree.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: long-running percussion show STOMP uses the body and ordinary objects to create a physical theatre performance using rhythms, acrobatics, and pantomime at the Queen Eizabeth Theatre.

Bryan Callen is at House of Comedy
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: American comedian, actor, and podcaster Bryan Callen (Madtv, The Goldbergs) performs two standup comedy shows at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in New Westminster.
SATURDAY: Halifax power-pop quartet Sloan performs hits from the past and tunes from new album Based on the Best Seller at the Commodore Ballroom. Here’s my interview with Sloan’s Jay Ferguson from 2003.
SATURDAY: British jazz fusion band GoGo Penguin–composed of pianist Chris Illingworth, double-bassist Nick Blacka, and drummer Jon Scott–plays the Centre in Vancouver.
