True Romance screens at the Rio

FRIDAY: late-night screening at the Rio Theatre of director Tony Scott’s hyper-violent, Quentin Tarantino-penned action flick True Romance, about an Elvis-obsessed comic-book nerd and his new love on the run from vicious gangsters.

FRIDAY: local folk-rock outfit Just A Season–featuring singer-guitarist Scott Smith from Terminal Station and vocalist Ashley Grant–performs material from all three of its albums at Guilt and Co.

FRIDAY: as part of Black History Month, free afternoon screening at the Vancouver Public Library of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, director Stanley Kramer’s 1967 romantic comedy-drama about an interracial couple seeking the blessing of the wife-to-be’s parents for their marriage.

The Trews play the Commodore
