Saturday is Record Store Day

FRIDAY: the Vancouver Whitecaps take on Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer action at BC Place.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: the Hyperspace Metal Festival VII features performances by melodic/power-metal bands Edge of Paradise, the Scepter, Lycanthro, Ophelia Falling, and Valley of Despair at the Cobalt on Friday; and Sanctuary, Owlbear, Artificial Language, Voidchaser, and Witchkiller at the Rickshaw Theatre on Saturday.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: showing nightly until April 29 at the Dome, Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring the mindblowing music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: That Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, running until November 8 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, features more than 100 works by the iconic B.C. artist, exploring in-depth her obsession with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

Record Store Day at Neptoon Records
SATURDAY: Record Store Day Canada features special vinyl releases as part of its 19th annual celebration of independent record stores. Participating Vancouver outlets include Neptoon Records, Zulu Records, Red Cat Records, Dandelion Records, Painted Lady Records, Beat Street, and Audiopile. SATURDAY: New York City punk-rock band the Casualties plays the Pearl, with guests the Drowns, RUMKICKS, and Terminal City Rats.

Bill Frisell: A Portrait screens at VIFF Centre
SATURDAY: Look Out for Hope performs a concert at VIFF Centre celebrating the unique guitar sound of Bill Frisell, followed by a screening of director Emma Franz’s 2017 documentary Bill Frisell: A Portrait.
SATURDAY: the Vancouver Warriors take on the Philadelphia Wings in National Lacrosse League action at Rogers Arena.
