FRIDAY: Vancouver blues-rockers Terminal Station–composed of singer-guitarist Scott Smith, keyboardist Darryl Havers, bassist Jeremy Holmes, and drummer Liam MacDonald–plays an early show at Guilt and Co. Here’s my interview with Scott Smith from 2020.

FRIDAY: screening at the Park Theatre of a 4K restoration of director Robin Hardy’s 1973 folk-horror classic, The Wicker Man, starring Edward Woodward as a staunchly Christian police officer investigating the disappearance of a young girl on a secluded Scottish island.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: running until May 31 at the DomePink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring the mindblowing music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAYThat Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, running until November 8 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, features more than 100 works by the iconic B.C. artist, exploring in-depth her obsession with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the DOXA Documentary Film Festival–a curated and juried festival featuring public screenings, panel discussions, and public forums–runs until May 10 at various Vancouver venues.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the Vancouver Canadians take on the Hillsboro Hops in Minor League Baseball action at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Brad Williams performs at the Vogue

SATURDAY: American standup comedian Brad Williams performs at the Vogue Theatre as part of his Tall Tales Tour ’26.

SATURDAY: Washington, D.C. psych-rock band Dead Meadow, plays the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Temptress and Space Queen.

SUNDAY: screening at the Hollywood Theatre of director John Carpenter’s 1982 sci-fi/horror classic The Thing, about a group of scientists confronted by a shape-shifting alien at an Antarctic research station.

Billy Preston doc screens at the Park

SUNDAY: afternoon screening at the Park Theatre of director Paris Barclay‘s new feature documentary, Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It, about the legendary American keyboardist, singer, and songwriter.
