FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: running until May 31 at the Dome, Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon is an immersive, 42-minute, 360° surround-sound journey through deep space, alien worlds, and celestial landscapes, featuring the mindblowing music from the legendary prog-rock band’s 1973 album.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: That Green Ideal: Emily Carr and the Idea of Nature, running until November 8 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, features more than 100 works by the iconic B.C. artist, exploring in-depth her obsession with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: the DOXA Documentary Film Festival–a curated and juried festival featuring public screenings, panel discussions, and public forums–runs until May 10 at various Vancouver venues.

Eliades Ochoa plays the Chan
SATURDAY: Cuban guitarist and singer Eliades Ochoa, former member of the Buena Vista Social Club, performs at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
SATURDAY: Master Boot Record mixes heavy metal and synthesized electronic music at the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Arottenbit and Sleeper Ship.
SATURDAY: Vancouver author Chris Walter launches his latest punk-rock manifesto, Born Too Loose, at LanaLou’s, with musical performances by GNAR GNARS, Squidz, and Trollop.

The Wood Brothers play the Hollywood
SATURDAY: progressive Americana trio the Wood Brothers–composed of guitarist-vocalist Oliver Wood, bassist-vocalist Chris Wood, and percussionist Jano Rix–plays the Hollywood Theatre, with guest Olive Klug. SOLD OUT.
SATURDAY: the Great Divide performs the music of The Band, from their early work with Bob Dylan through to The Last Waltz, at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios.
SUNDAY: Welsh singer-songwriter and slide-guitarist Martin Harley melds Americana, blues, and folk at BlueShore at CapU.
