SATURDAY: American alt-country funk-rockers Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds, featuring singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson, play tunes from new album Mutiny After Midnight at the Pacific Coliseum.
SATURDAY: free, family-friendly screening at the Park Theatre of director Richard Linklater’s 2003 comedy School of Rock, about a fourth-grade substitute teacher at a private school who secretly begins teaching his students how to play rock ‘n’ roll.

SATURDAY: San Diego soul-jazz quintet the Greyboy Allstars plays the Rickshaw Theatre.
SATURDAY: Seattle roots-rock quartet the Dusty 45s, featuring vocalist-trumpeter Billy Joe Huels, plays White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios.
SUNDAY: Seattle hard-rock band Foo Fighters, featuring singer-guitarist Dave Grohl, plays BC Place, with guests Queens of the Stone Age and Gouge Away.
Sarah McLachlan plays Freedom Mobile Arch
SUNDAY: Canadian soft-rock superstar Sarah McLachlan performs hits from the past and tunes from latest album Better Broken at the Freedom Mobile Arch. (Note: tickets for McLachlan’s cancelled Sept. 6 PNE Summer Night Concert will be honoured.)
