MONDAY: final day of Fan Expo Vancouver, which features comics, anime, cosplay, gaming, sci-fi, horror, and celebrity guests at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The guy who played Robocop is there!

MONDAY AND TUESDAY: screenings at the Cinematheque and VIFF Centre of Alfred Hitchcock‘s 1958 masterpiece Vertigo, starring James Stewart and Kim Novak. Kim Novak just turned 90!

TUESDAY: Live Nation Canada presents controversial Canadian psychologist, author, and media commentator Jordan Petersen speaking at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on his Beyond Order Tour. SOLD OUT. Feel free to peacefully protest his appearance outside.

THURSDAY: comedian, actress, writer, producer, and podcaster Sarah Silverman performs standup at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of Just For Laughs Vancouver. That lady’s hilarious!

FRIDAY: Timbre Concerts presents two shows by Australian surf/garage-rock trio Skegss at the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Yot Club. POSTPONED.

FRIDAY: eight-piece Vancouver band Zappostrophe’ performs favourites and lesser-known works from Frank Zappa’s eclectic recordings at Frankie’s Jazz. Remember: don’t eat the yellow snow.

Tove Lo plays the Commodore

FRIDAY: Swedish electropop singer-songwriter Tove Lo plays the Commodore Ballroom on her Dirt Femme Tour, with guest Slayyyter. SOLD OUT.

FRIDAY: comedian, writer, and actor Tim Dillon performs standup at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of Just For Laughs Vancouver. Just try not to laugh.

FRIDAY: ten-piece Vancouver all-star band Reelin’ in the Years performs its tribute to Steely Dan at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios. Maybe they’ll do “Deacon Blues”.
