FRIDAY: comedian, writer, and actor Tim Dillon performs standup at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of Just For Laughs Vancouver. Just try not to laugh.

Tove Lo plays the Commodore

FRIDAY: Swedish electropop singer-songwriter Tove Lo plays the Commodore Ballroom on her Dirt Femme Tour, with guest Slayyyter. SOLD OUT.

FRIDAY: late-night screening at the Rio Theatre of David Lynch’s 1992 murder-mystery Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, starring Kyle MacLachlan. So, who killed Laura Palmer again?

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: ten-piece Vancouver all-star band Reelin’ in the Years performs its tribute to Steely Dan at White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios. Maybe they’ll do “Deacon Blues”. SOLD OUT.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY: Metro Theatre presents performances of playwright Frederick Knott’s iconic suspense-thriller Wait Until Dark, about a blind woman in a deadly game of survival. Maybe you’ve seen the movie with Audrey Hepburn.

SATURDAY: the Vancouver Canucks take on the league-leading Boston Bruins in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena. Try not to think about 2011.

SATURDAY: American comedian, actor, and writer Patton Oswalt performs standup at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of Just For Laughs Vancouver. That dude’s hilarious!

SUNDAY: Vancouver vocalist Daphne Roubini is joined by guitarist Paul Pigat and bassist Brent Gubbles in a program of vintage jazz standards, folk, and blues at Water Street Cafe.
