Bif Naked plays the Rickshaw

British pop-rock band the Cure, featuring singer-guitarist Robert Smith, plays Rogers Arena on June 2, with guests the Twilight Sad. Cure guitarist Reeves Gabrels used to play with David Bowie in Tin Machine!

Elvis Costello & the Imposters, with guest guitarist Charlie Sexton, play the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on June 7, with opening act Nick Lowe & Los Straitjackets. Don’t miss the opening act!

Blues-punk slide guitar one-man band Bob Log III plays the Biltmore Cabaret on June 9, with guests Spank Williams. Mr. Log wears a full-body human cannonball suit and a helmet wired to a telephone receiver.

Instrumental jazz-fusion quintet Blues Hoodoo–composed of guitarist Konrad Bruers, keyboardist Stuart “Stubop” Young, saxophonist Ian Putz, bassist Shawn Stewart, and drummer Ron Wells–plays Frankie’s Jazz on June 17. Stand on it Stubop!

Osees play the Commodore

San Francisco garage-rock band Osees plays the Commodore Ballroom on June 22, with guests Dead Ghosts. SOLD OUT. Snooze ya lose.

Soulful Vancouver jazz-funk band Nightcrawlers–composed of drummer Jesse Cahill, alto saxophonist Cory Weeds, guitarist Dave Sikula, percussionist Jack Duncan, and Hammond B3 organist Chris Gestrin–play Ocean Artworks on June 24 as part of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, which runs until July 2.

Dead Quiet play the Rickshaw

Vancouver hard-rock band Dead Quiet celebrates the release of its new album IV at the Rickshaw Theatre on June 24, with guests Heavy Trip and Needs.

Steelin’ in the Years, Vancouver’s star-studded 10-piece tribute to the music of Steely Dan, plays a free show at Lynn Valley Village on June 25 as part of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival’s North Shore Jazz program. Hope they do “Deacon Blues”.

Canadian hard-rock hitmakers Nickelback play Rogers Arena on June 28, with guests Brantley Gilbert and Josh Ross. Love Nickelback or hate ’em, you gotta admit: their drummer kick ass!

The Pack A.D. plays the Rickshaw

Vancouver rocker Bif Naked plays the Rickshaw Theatre on June 29, celebrating the 25th anniversary of her album I Bificus, with guests the Pack A.D. and Ché Aimee Dorval. Rock on ladies!
