That time AC/DC’s Bon Scott couldn’t remember the name of the bass player from Kiss

By Steve Newton

I’ve met Gene Simmons from Kiss a couple of times, but he didn’t come off as particularly charming. Both times–once in person and once on the phone–he seemed pretty full of himself, which I suppose is kind of his trademark.

He is the “God of Thunder”, after all.

But today I came across this short clip of an interview with AC/DC‘s Bon Scott from 1977 in which he is asked about an upcoming American tour with Kiss. I just love the way that, at the 1:30 mark, he can’t remember the name of “the bass player from Kiss”, and neither the interviewer nor some guy off camera named Carl can help him out.

I bet “popular guy” Gene Simmons would have hated that.

God bless Bon Scott!
