If The Dark Side of the Moon hasn’t blown you away enough already, check out this new vinyl version

By Steve Newton

Hardcore Pink Floyd freaks who are also dedicated vinyl connoisseurs have something to look forward to this spring.

Yesterday the legendary British prog-rock band announced the upcoming release of an upscale collector’s edition of The Dark Side Of The Moon, the mindblowing 1973 album that has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

It will be issued on two single-sided LPs, featuring crystal-clear UV artwork print on the non-groove side.

“This is the first time that Pink Floyd has used this pioneering UV printing process on vinyl,” reads a press release from Pink Floyd Records. “The images are printed with a high end UV printer, using UV-LED light to dry the permanent ink on the side without audio on which the image is printed.

“This combination of one-sided audio and the UV print (on the side without audio) combines the best of both worlds: perfect audio and a beautiful image to enjoy.”

The striking collector’s edition, packaged in a slipcased gatefold sleeve with an exclusive poster, will be available April 19, but you can preorder here.
