The Tragically Hip to release Live at CBGB’s on pink vinyl and cassette for Record Store Day

By Steve Newton

The Tragically Hip, the greatest Canadian rock band ever (unless you’re a Rush freak), announced today that it will be releasing a live album on Record Store Day (April 20).

Live at CBGB‘s features nine tracks originally recorded at the famed New York City venue on January 14, 1993, when the Hip launched its third (and arguably best) full-length album, 1992’s Fully Completely, in the States.

The group also announced today that it has been named Record Store Day 2024 Canadian Ambassadors, which Hip lead guitarist Rob Baker mentioned in a YouTube video filmed at one of his fave record shops:

2024 is a special year for the Hip, as it marks the 40th anniversary of its formation in Kingston, Ontario. The band’s legacy will be further honoured with a deluxe, 35th anniversary rerelease of its 1989 breakthrough album, Up To Here, and a four-part documentary set to steam on Amazon Prime in October.
