MONDAY: Vancouver sextet Petunia & the Vipers combines elements of country, western swing, Mexicana, French cabaret, ragtime, rockabilly, jazz, punk, and folk at the Princeton Pub & Grill.

MONDAY TO FRIDAYThe Art of Banksy: “Without Limits” exhibition, running until June 22 at 1 Alexander Street, features over 200 prints, photos, sculptures, installations, and murals by world-famous street artist Banksy.

TUESDAY TO FRIDAY: Renegade Arts Co. presents the world premiere of Back From the Dead, an apocalyptic rock musical with story by composer-producer Jim Buckshon and legendary Vancouver rock critic Tom Harrison, running until June 28 at the Shop Theatre. The Abby Canucks vie for the Calder Cup

TUESDAY & THURSDAY: the Abbotsford Canucks take on the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup Finals at Abbotsford Centre.

THURSDAY: the Saving Soles Soirée at the Rio Theatre is a benefit for the fire-ravaged Dayton Boot Factory and its East Van artist community, hosted by Charlie Demers and featuring performances by Cousin Harley, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Vancid, Bob Sumner, Elliot C Way, Estelle Honeywell, Murfitt & Main, Lonesome Town Painters, and Son in Law. THURSDAY: director Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic horror film 28 Years Later opens at various Metro Vancouver theatres.

Immanuel Wilkins plays the Western Front

FRIDAY: Brooklyn-based saxophonist-composer Immanuel Wilkins and the Lutosławski Quartet perform two shows at the Western Front on opening night of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. First show SOLD OUT.

FRIDAY: opening day of the three-day Dragon Boat Festival at Corcord Pacific Place and False Creek, which features dragon-boat races, craft vendors, food trucks, kids’ activities, and live music by Tiger Really, the Kuyas, Coastal Wolf PackToddy, Royal Oak, and headliners Lights and Felix Cartal.

FRIDAY: the Jonny Bones Benefit Show at the Rickshaw Theatre features performances by the Still Spirits, Die Job, Alien Boys, Jesse Lebourdais, Brasser, Blake Pinder, and Mervis Blue.
