My concert-crazy nephew Jeff gifted me a one-of-a-kind AC/DC collectible and it’s not for sale

By Steve Newton

Maybe because he figures he still owes me for getting him backstage at Iron Maiden and Mötley Crüe gigs when he was a teenager in the ’80s, my nephew Jeff recently gave me something cool for a belated birthday present.

When he drove down from the Okanagan to take me to see my favourite rock band, the Drive-By Truckers, Jeff handed me a cool canvas objet d’art that he had made from a cell-phone photo he took when AC/DC played Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium in April.

It captures lead-guitarist Angus Young wailing away on his famous cherry-red SG while a storm of multi-coloured confetti rains down around him.

I think it’s awesome, and a worthy addition to my man cave.

And I’ve got no complaints about the beer koozie Jeff threw in, either.
