MONDAY, WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY: screenings at the VIFF Centre of director Amy Berg‘s new music documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, about the American singer-songwriter who died tragically at the age of 30 after recording one highly acclaimed album.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY: Grammy-winning bluegrass singer-songwriter and guitarist Billy Strings plays two nights at the Commodore Ballroom.
TUESDAY TO FRIDAY: the Vancouver Canadians take on the Tri-City Dust Devils in Minor League Baseball action at Nat Bailey Stadium.

SuperDogs are at the PNE Fair
TUESDAY TO FRIDAY: the 2025 PNE Fair, running until September 1, features nightly concerts, attractions like the SuperDogs and I-Flip aerial shows, cultural showcases, agricultural displays, sand sculptures, family play zones, food and market vendors, the PNE Prize Home, and dozens of rides and midway games at Playland.
WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY: Star Witnesses, running at the Polygon Gallery until September 28, assembles works by 11 artists whose observations of the cosmos bring new understandings of exploratory and migratory movements on Planet Earth.
THURSDAY: Vancouver-based indie-rock quintet Mother Mother plays tunes from latest album Nostalgia at the Pacific Coliseum as part of the PNE Summer Night Concerts series.

Greg Sestero is at the Rio
THURSDAY: Greg Sestero, co-star of Tommy Wiseau’s 2003 pop-culture phenomenon The Room and author of the best-selling memoir The Disaster Artist, hosts screenings at the Rio Theatre of The Room and Wiseau’s 2023 action-comedy Big Shark.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Vancouver soul-singer Krystle Dos Santos and her eight-piece band are featured in A History of Motown, running until August 24 at the Firehall Arts Centre. Here’s my interview with Krystle Dos Santos from 2021.
