The world’s greatest thrash-metal band opens its 2027 North American tour in Vancouver on May 8

The mighty Metallica announced today that it will kick off its 2027 North American tour with an in-the-round concert at Vancouver’s BC Place on May 8.

That just happens to be on a Saturday, so you know it’s gonna be a blast, in more ways than one:

Opening acts are Limp Bizkit and Avatar, if anybody cares.

I’ve seen Metallica several times over the years, and they’ve never sucked. Here’s some of my reviews:

At Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on the Full Arsenal Tour, August 24, 2012.

At Vancouver’s Thunderbird Arena on the Shit Hits the Sheds Tour, July 17, 1994.

At Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum on the Wherever We May Roam Tour, May 23, 1992.

At Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum on the Damaged Justice Tour, May 31, 1989.

At Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum on the Damage, Inc. Tour, December 19, 1986.

Tickets for the BC Place show go on sale September 25, with partial proceeds going to Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation, which supports workforce education, combats food insecurity, and assists disaster-relief efforts.
