For those horror freaks out there who just can’t get enough of a masked guy in overalls stabbin’ folks, here’s some good news.

Anchor Bay Entertainment announced today that on September 23 it will release 10- and 15-disc editions of Halloween The Complete Collection, which gathers up all the Halloweens together on Blu-ray for the first time.

Both editions contain all the Halloween feature films—Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Halloween: The Curse of Michael MyersHalloween H20Halloween: Resurrectionand Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II

The deluxe set lays it on thick with the never-before-released producers’ cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, the rare network TV version of the original Halloween, the network TV version of Halloween II,  and the unrated versions of Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II.

It also includes brand new interviews with cast and crew from the entire franchise, and comes with a 40-page book written by Fangoria‘s Michael Gingold, who used to assign me to do Vancouver set-visits like when I covered Halloween: Resurrection back in 2001.

Sadly, that wasn’t one of the better Halloweens.

But the first one’s a stone-cold classic, obviously. And I have an unexplainable fondness for the quirky Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which was written and directed by the same guy who did the TV version of Stephen King’s IT.

Michael Myers wasn’t even in Season of the Witch, if you can believe that. But it had that wacky kids’ tune that went: “Happy happy Halloween…Halloween…Halloween. Happy happy Halloween…Silver Shamrock.”

Freaky deaky, as Richard Pryor used to say.
