AC/DC’s new album will ROCK! It says so right in the song titles!

Yesterday AC/DC released the song titles for its highly anticipated new album, and by all accounts the Aussie blues-metal legends will continue to rock. It’s right there in the titles: “Rock the House”, “Rock the Blues Away”, “Got Some Rock & Roll Thunder”, and the title track, “Rock or Bust”.

It appears that the nasty rumour about the boys going all soft and wimpy with the loss of rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young is nothing but a load of crap.

I knew it.

AC/DC has a long history of recording great songs with “rock” in the title. “Let There Be Rock” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)” might be the best known, but “Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution”, “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)”, “Rocker”, and “Rock and Roll Damnation” are worth mentioning as well.

Strangely enough, two of the AC/DC albums generally regarded as among their weakest–1983’s Flick of the Switch and 1985’s Fly On the Wall–don’t include any songs with “rock” in the title.

Big mistake there.

It was no shock when the band sold massive amounts (six-million copies) of its previous album, 2008’s Black Ice, since it boasted the tracks “Rock ‘n’ Roll Train”, “She Likes Rock ‘n’ Roll”, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Dream”, and “Rocking All the Way”.

Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t un-“rock” it.

Rock or Bust–which was recorded here in Vancouver and mixed by Langley’s Mike Fraser–is scheduled for release on December 2. Here’s the full track listing:

“Rock or Bust”
“Play Ball”
“Rock The Blues Away”
“Miss Adventure”
“Dogs of War”
“Got Some Rock & Roll Thunder”
“Hard Times”
“Baptism By Fire”
“Rock the House”
“Sweet Candy”
“Emission Control”

    1. Agreed there’s like 3 decent songs on fly but flick it’s bad ass nervous badlands bedlam guns landslide and I like deep in the hole

  1. LoL – that’s so lame, typical journalist who doesn’t grasp the essence of the band. FOTS is chock-full of fucking great songs from start to finish. FOTW isn’t far behind, The songs are great, it’s just we all know it sounds a little bit odd.
