MONDAY AND TUESDAY: screenings at the VIFF Centre of director Lisa Cortés’s new music documentary, Little Richard: I Am Everything.
WEDNESDAY: 25th anniversary screening at the Rio Theatre of Joel and Ethan Coen’s comedy The Big Lebowski, starring Jeff Bridges as “The Dude”. White Russians will be served at the bar.
WEDNESDAY: nuevo-flamenco group the Gipsy Kings, featuring lead guitarist Tonino Baliardo, plays the Orpheum Theatre.
Raven runs at the York Theatre
WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY: the Cultch presents Raven, the Berlin-based collective still hungry’s contemporary circus play about motherhood, at the York Theatre.
FRIDAY: Canadian blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Jack de Keyzer plays White Rock’s Blue Frog Studios. SOLD OUT.
FRIDAY: vocalists Capathia Jenkins and Ryan Shaw join the Vancouver Symphony in a tribute to Aretha Franklin at the Orpheum Theatre.
Paul Pigat plays Mel Lehan Hall
