Emmett Jerome plays the Fox Cabaret

Emmett Jerome: alt-country/roots singer-songwriter and guitarist from Alberta performs at a release party for debut Light Organ Records CD, Rocky Mountain Son, with guest Mercy Walker. October 4 at the Fox Cabaret.

Soul Asylum: alt-rockers from Minneapolis, featuring original frontman Dave Pirner, with guests the Juliana Hatfield Three. October 5 at the Vogue Theatre.

Weezer plays Rogers Arena

Weezer: American power-pop quartet featuring vocalist Rivers Cuomo plays The Blue Album in full, with guests the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. October 5 at Rogers Arena. Here’s my interview with Weezer’s Brian Bell from 2002 and Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis from 1991.

Evanescence: hard-rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas, featuring vocalist Amy Lee, with guests Halestorm and the Warning. October 15 at Rogers Arena.

Minami Deutsch plays the Pearl

Minami Deutsch: “Krautrock” quartet from Japan performs material from latest album, Fortune Goodies, with guests Mong Tong. October 17 at the Pearl.

The Musical Box: Genesis tribute band performs on its Selling England By the Pound 50th anniversary tour. October 24 at the Vogue Theatre.

Brandon Isaak and the Saints of Swing: blues-roots singer-songwriter and guitarist from the Yukon performs with a band composed of keyboardist Mike Kalanj, upright bassist Pat Darcus, and drummer Chris “The Wrist” Nordquist. Girlschool plays the Rickshaw

Girlschool: ’80s metal quartet from Britain, featuring original members Kim McAuliffe and Denise Dufort, with guests Alcatrazz and Lillian Axe. October 27 at the Rickshaw Theatre.
